"A picture is worth a 1,000 words" could not better describe the importance of having your household items documented prior to a move.  A written inventory, listing the condition of your furniture, size & contents of cartons if packed by a moving company, crates being shipped with size and contents listed, are examples of what needs to be inventoried.  A mover will identify a shipper's item, with a colored sticker , complete with a Lot#, and are in sequential order.  This inventory is an important legal; document to serve as a log of each and every irem that's loaded on the moving van.
