There are certain items that aren’t allowed to be packed or shipped on the moving van. The trailers, especially in the summer months, get extremely hot and as a result, can cause certain combustible items to catch fire.  Bleaches can cause deadly fumes.  Aerosols can explode.

Here’s a list of the items than cannot be shipped on a moving van. Non-allowed items are determined by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and are subject to change frequently.

Unsealed/Perishable Food

Combustible Liquids

Corrosive Liquids

Gases, Compressed

Chlorinated Hydrocarbons

(found in decorative lamps)

Power Equipment

Completely drain fuel from engine power driven equipment (motorcycles, mopeds, lawn mowers, boats, snowmobiles, jet skis, etc.) Run until engine stalls.

If you have specific questions on some of these items or other items you’re considering to ship, please point out these items at the time of your estimate or ask your packing crew.
